Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How many students qualify as a group?
A group is 6 or more students traveling together and purchasing their classes at the same time.
Do we have to register our group before we arrive?
It is very difficult to accommodate a group if you arrive unannounced. We suggest you complete the online registration form or call our offices at x 79 to pre-register your group before your arrival. A member of Group Services will discuss the details of your visit including arranging your schedule of classes in advance of your arrival.
Do we have to choose the classes we are going to take before we arrive?
Due to a number of factors, placement in regularly scheduled classes is limited for groups. In order to accommodate your requests, it is to your benefit that you contact a member of Group Services, prior to your arrival, to arrange the classes you wish to participate in.
How do we know what classes to take?
One of the main functions of Group Services is to advise you on class selection. There are a number of elements that combine to create a memorable and educational experience at Broadway Dance Center. One of the most important is placement in open classes that are best suited to your dancers individual needs. Our staff is happy to spend as much time as you need to assist you in organizing your student's schedules
How old do you have to be to take open class at BDC?
Students must be at least 13 years old to participate in the majority of classes at BDC (certain instructors may have a higher age restriction). There are a handful of teachers that will permit students 10 and up; however, permission must be arranged through group services prior to your visit.
Does every member of our group have to have a BDC Club Card?
It is a requirement that anyone wishing to take class at BDC complete a registration form for our BDC Club Card. You may do so online at www.BDCClubCard.com prior to your arrival to expedite the sign-in process.
Can my students take their open classes together?
Our staff will do their best to accommodate your requests. Factors that determine this are based upon the size of your group and the classes you request. In most cases, the level and preferences of your students vary within the group. Therefore, we encourage your students to participate in classes that best suit their individual level and style preference. We believe there is value in the experience of not taking classes together.
Can we get refunded for any unused classes?
We are happy to offer you a full refund for any unused classes. Refunds are issued in form of a BDC studio check within one week of your group’s last day at BDC. No refunds will be issued after 30 days from last day of class taken. There are no cash refunds.
Can parents and chaperones observe the classes?
We welcome class observation as we believe there is much to learn through watching. All of our studios have large viewing windows and plenty of space to get comfortable.
What is the best time of year for me to bring my students?
Groups are welcome all year round. Our busiest season is during the summer months of June, July and August. Please speak with our Group Services staff to help you arrange a memorable visit.
